ARDMS awards the RMSKS credential (Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer) to sonographers who pass the Ultrasound Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) exam and the Musculoskeletal Sonographer exam.
The SPI exam is 2 hours long and consists of 110 multiple-choice and semi-interactive console questions. The musculoskeletal exam exam is 3 hours long and contains approximately 170 multiple-choice questions, including hotspot
questions. Hotspot questions are Advanced Item Type questions that assess and measure your practical sonography skills.
